MSc in Human Physiology and PhD in Physiology at the University of Copenhagen. Currently, Associate Professor at the Rome University of Movement Science. Research Fellow at the Copenhangen Muscle Research Centre (CMRC), University of Copenhagen (1996-2004). Visiting researcher at the Department of Applied Physiology Stratchclyde University, Glasgow (2006). Research interests: muscle and exercise metabolism, with special focus on skeletal muscle lipid metabolism in relation to exercise, training, ageing and health. Teaching areas: “Physical activity, Health and Fitness” and “Physical Activity for Adults and Elderly”, Rome University of Movement Science.
